So here’s the comic I made about the, uh… door scenario stjuib came up with when Nilani and TIlven met.
(please tell me you like it)

Ohmygod this is so perfect, this is now one of my most favorite things ever. I love this so much, Nilani is like the only sane one, what is your deal Tilven.

Tidril it’s okay to stop being grumpy every once in a while to love on your girlfriend.

How about an origins high school au where elves keep their racial status.

The schools are barely de-segregated and most of the teachers are racist. Most elves drop out of high school because they live in slums and need to work to support their families.

Velanna proudly displaying the tattoos on her face because fuck the dress code, fuck respectability, she has no shame in her culture.

Shianni wearing t-shirts with ‘Remember The Denerim Riots’ written on them in sharpie.

Zevran homeless and living with Tabris’ family after escaping human trafficking.

Alistair’s secret isn’t that he’s a royal, it’s that his mother is an elf. He doesn’t even know because it’s the family shame.

Mahariel with Tamlen’s name tattooed across his chest, raging against his social worker Duncan for not doing more to help him.

Velanna getting detention after detention for calling out the history teacher’s bullshit.

Tabris and Soris with scars on their hands and faces from a knife fight they got into with their cousin’s rapist, Tabris hiding the body because they’d try her as an adult even though she’s 15.

Dalish families hiding elven mages to keep them out of the asylum system, impossibly worse for elves than for humans.

Velanna and Mahariel laughing themselves sick at college recruiters at the school. As if they’d let dalish into any of these schools.

Queer elves like Zevran knowing being out is a death sentence.

Elves flipping off shems who call them angry and violent. They have a right to be.

Ari your house is too small you can’t just keep your books stacked like this.
Also if you’re wondering why that sleeping bag is there it’s cause that’s where Julan sleeps
all those books are going to fall on him in the middle of the night.

Today’s mental health reminder: a relapse, a sudden series of attacks, a string of awful days, (or whatever your step back may be) does not decrease your value. Take your time, do some self care, reflect on the progress that you have made. You are strong; one step back is nothing when you look at the journey you have already made.

hello friends I would not recommend spilling really hot cup o’ noodles onto your hands, arms, and lap because you will want to die from the burns

actualanders:

Listen, don’t even play the mage rights vs. elf rights card unless you’re gonna talk about how they over lap and intertwine. These two issues are not separate.

And you know if you’re gonna try the whole ‘elves have it worse’ fandango. You may also wish to address the dwarves, their caste system, the corruption of their merchants guild, and the carta.

The only people who have it handed to them in Thedas are straight up human nobles.

And let’s not pretend this is because people don’t care, it’s more about what people are actually aware of.

The ways in which templars are abused by the Chantry is downplayed in both games. The mages plight is downplayed in Origins. The elves plight is downplayed in DA: 2 and the mage/templar conflict is the entire plot of DA: 2 which is told on a much more personal level than it’s predecessor. So of course more people are going to notice.

Don’t blame the writing for doing what it’s actually meant to do, point out the intricacies of the story to people instead. So we can all be upset over more fictional politics instead of fighting over it.
